We welcome companies or individuals interested in sponsoring a race or race day at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club. As well as a great day out at one of the state’s best country race tracks, that you can share with your friends, valued clients and staff, there is the additional benefit of local and national exposure for your business. Race sponsorship packages can be tailored to suit your requirements. Packages can extend right up to naming rights to a feature TAB race day and the main race on the program.

PLATINUM SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE:  Naming Rights to Your Own Race Day and subsequent publicity of your own race day on TV, radio, newspapers and posters. ANNUAL RACE BOOK SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE:  Half Page Ad in each Race book (10 per season) Total Racebook Sponsorship Cost = $250.00 + GST Total Racebook Sponsorship Value = $500.00 + GST Please note that with all Sponsorship Packages, you are welcome to bring your own food to the race meet or alternatively we are happy to help you organise catering. Security is trackside at all times.

Signage Opportunities:

You also have the opportunity to feature a sign on the track fence for 12 months. No matter which signage option you choose, your sign will be placed in a prominent position, where it will receive excellent exposure. Three Key Benefits of Signage for Your Business:  Your sign will be clearly visible to patrons when they are spectating a race, as well as when they are viewing other events such as Fashions on the Field.  National coverage of our TAB meetings on SKY Racing and TVN, which in turn deliver to home audiences on Austar and Foxtel, provides potential for millions of viewers worldwide to see your business branding.  The internet is now also a popular vehicle for viewing races and thus its coverage also provides great publicity for your business.  Signage also provides recognition of your community support within our local region. Sign on Running Rail: Your sign would be placed inside the track on the running rail along from the winning post. The sign must be 3.6m x 1.2m and supplied and fitted by you. The sign remains your property. Cost = $1000 + GST.

Sign on Fence:

Your sign would be placed trackside along from the winning post. The sign must be 2.4m x 960mm and supplied and fitted by you. The sign remains your property. Cost if sponsoring a race = $250 + GST. Cost if not sponsoring a race = $500 + GST.

Exclusive Signage and Naming Rights Sponsorship Opportunity:

We currently have an exclusive opportunity for one sponsor to have sole signage on our new Sponsors and Function Centre, which would give the sponsor naming rights to this highly popular venue. For instance, it could be called The Your Business Sponsors and Function Centre in all of our marketing material for the function venue. Please note that signage is to be placed along the roof line of the centre. In return the Sapphire Coast Turf Club will ensure that you have exclusive signage rights to the Sponsors and Function Centre for this period. You will be responsible for supplying and fitting the signage and it will remain your property. As a bonus, we will offer you a complimentary 2.4m x 1m sign on the trackfence for the period of this contract. Again, you will need to supply and fit this sign. Total Sponsorship Cost = $12,000 + GST for 3 Years. Benefits of Sponsoring Aligning your brand with the highly regarded Sapphire Coast Turf Club presents a wealth of benefits to your business. First and foremost is the extensive brand exposure given to you not only on race day but in the lead up to the event. Each race meet is advertised on radio, newspapers, social media and the internet and we ensure all our sponsors are featured in our event marketing. As mentioned above, all our TAB race meets are broadcast nationally on TV, radio and internet and therefore your business will be mentioned by on-air personal in the lead up to, during and after your race. Those at the track will also hear your business name in the aforementioned, plus they will further absorb it when reading the race book and viewing the race presentation. This exposure of your business will no doubt result in greater brand recognition. With the increase in online sales and subsequent struggle of small businesses across the country, the Bega Valley and Sapphire Coast is encouraging community members to shop locally. With the Sapphire Coast Turf Club’s growing reputation as one of regional NSW’s top courses, the number of trainers, owners, jockeys and punters we are attracting to each meet is continually increasing. About Our Club

Located at Kalaru, between Merimbula, Bega and Tathra on the far south coast, it is with good reason that the Sapphire Coast Turf Club is fast becoming one of the most popular tracks in regional NSW. An immaculately presented racecourse set within stunning bushland, it is a breathtaking vision that sets the scene for exhilarating and fun-filled race days. Boasting modern and sophisticated facilities, the Club hosts ten race meetings each season which attract large crowds of up to 3000 people. Local and interstate jockeys, trainers, owners and punters are drawn to the Sapphire Coast Turf Club, ensuring high class fields at all race meets. Add to this our range of entertainment that varies each meet from fashions on the field through to jumping castles, kids pony rides and mechanical bucking bulls, and it is no wonder we have a broad range of demographics enjoying each spectacular race day. Whether you’re a fanatical horseman, a social butterfly, a fashionista or a young child, it’s always an awesome day out at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club.

Commitment to Our Local Region

Sapphire Coast Turf Club believes strongly in supporting our local community and in particular those who support us. For that reason, we ensure that where possible all our requirements are met by local suppliers and service providers so that we are investing in the future of the Bega Valley and Sapphire Coast region. This same approach is taken to race days where both the Tathra and Bega Lions Clubs are given the opportunity to earn a large intake of funds. Volunteers from these not-for-profit organisations operate the bars and food outlets each meet and in return the Club gives them a percentage of the profits made. Additionally these club members provide sandwiches to be sold on the day, which generate extra funds. The Sapphire Coast Turf Club has chosen to work with the Lions Club because the organisation’s primary purpose is to fundraise for the benefit of our community. To ensure the upkeep of our pristine track, Sapphire Coast Turf Club employs a team of eight individuals from WorkAbility. This arrangement has proved very successful for both parties. It provides regular rewarding work to individuals who have been previously overlooked for work opportunities and in turn their enjoyment and dedication to the job ensures our track is always in top condition. Other local tradesmen are engaged for specialised track work as required, giving further job opportunities to locals. Additionally, up to 30 staff are employed each race day, with the majority again being members of the local community. It costs approximately $400,000 a year to run our racing facility and much of this is outsourced to locals. Any profits made for the Sapphire Coast Turf Club are invested back into the facility to ensure we are providing our community with a high-quality state of the art race course that hosts outstanding meets for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike.

Track Facilities

Courtesy Bus: To make life easier for our patrons, we run a free bus service to and from the race track each meet with collection and drop off points in Bega, Tathra, Tura Beach, Merimbula, Pambula and Eden. Food and Beverage: Four bars operate on race days, as well as two food outlets and a quality coffee van. Patrons are welcome to bring their own food but not alcoholic drinks. Betting: A strong bookmakers ring, fielding both local and interstate races, is centrally located for the convenience of patrons. The course also features up to 10 TAB sales windows. Parking: The club provides ample free parking that is close to the entrance. Access for everybody: There is level access to all track facilities, along with three disabled toilets and a baby change room. Eftpos: For the convenience of patrons, eftpos facilities are available at the course. Viewing areas: Sapphire Coast Turf Club was designed with the spectator in mind and thus patrons can enjoy an unobstructed view of the racing action from most parts of the course. Patrons may choose to enjoy the races from the large banked grass area where many gather with friends on picnic rugs and their own camp chairs. Others prefer to sit at tables and chairs at the top of the embankment, while others choose to stand at the rails or under the covered betting ring. Sponsors and Function Centre: Our Sponsors and Function Centre features floor to ceiling glass windows that look directly out to the race course. It also features a bar, book maker facilities and plasma screens to view all races and TAB odds. Tables and chairs are both inside and outside so sponsors can choose to enjoy the sunshine or appreciate the shelter in less favourable conditions. With seating for up to 320 guests, our function centre is the largest in the Bega Valley and is a hit not only at our race days but is an ideal venue for weddings, seminars, parties and other special events. Members Area: The members area is exclusive to members and their guests and features a lounge and bar, as well as plasma screens to view all races and TAB odds. It also has a wide balcony, which is a popular location for members to view each race. The Course Itself: The course’s popularity is not surprising considering its well thought out design that has been stunningly executed with great attention to detail. A sweeping 2000 metres in circumference with a home straight of more than 400 metres, the course is intended for exciting race finishes. The track is 30 metres wide with banked turns providing plenty of galloping room, which gives the field an equal chance of winning. There are chute starts from the 1000m, 1200m and 1600m starting points, which provide all runners with a long straight run from the barriers before they reach the first turn. Inside the main track is a state of the art sand training facility which is used for conditioning horses in the lead up to full racing fitness. The turf club complex has its own secure water sources with a large dam in the middle of the course and an even greater one at the bottom of the property. Additionally, two bores are featured in the course centre, which pump to concrete storage tanks for irrigation. The club also utilises the treated water from the Kalaru Sewerage Treatment Plant which is located just across the road.
